PalArt — Art for Palestine Auction

Hilary Moses (BA, Norwich School of Art, 1990) is a 2D animator and illustrator who is passionate about visual storytelling and the drawn image. She graduated from the Norwich School of Art with an honours degree in graphic design in 1990. Her first job in animation was as an inbetweener on the Oscar winning director Richard Williams’ feature film The Thief and the Cobbler. The experience working at Richard Williams Studio was the inspiration for her 14 minute, 2D animated short Creamers, which she completed in 2015. Creamers has since screened around the world and is currently distributed by Hewes Pictures.

After Richard Williams Studio, she continued to work in commercial animation in the UK when she joined Richard Purdum Productions and worked with the award-winning director Michael Dudok de Wit.

Moses returned to Canada in 1992 and joined International Rocketship as an FX animator. In 1999, she founded Fantastic Cat Productions. Since then, she has worked on collaborative and commissioned projects ranging from National Film Board documentaries, feature animation, interactives, video games and award- winning TV specials. She has taught animation and visual story development at Emily Carr University, Van Arts and as well as privately tutoring students young and old in design, animation and story.

She continues to work independently and commercially and is currently working on her Masters in Illustration through the University of Hertfordshire. Instagram: @hilaryamoses
